Camda, for
credible climate action.

We are a community of data and analytical experts, dedicated to providing credible climate action information from regions, cities, businesses, investors and civil society.

Our mission is to use this information to show how the world is transitioning to climate neutrality and resilience in line with the goals of the Paris Agreement.

At the end of 2022, the Camda secretariat completed its mission. This website is currently being maintained by the Data-Driven EnviroLab at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

Our Story

From 2017-2022, Camda played a unique role within the climate ecosystem by providing reliable, transparent and insightful analysis on voluntarily reported climate actions.

Camda’s work focused on distinct but
interrelated areas:

  • Methodological guidance
  • Data and reporting
  • Analyses and aggregation of impact
  • Tracking progress of climate action commitments

The community explored standards for data collection and tracking of climate action, as well as the benefits of action for credible progress. Camda adhered to the principles of neutrality, credibility, academic integrity, and collaboration.

In 2021, the Camda community evolved on several fronts. These include the delivery of new insights, stronger outreach and engagement, and in terms of its governance.

The Camda secretariat completed its mission in 2022. This website is now maintained by the Data-Driven EnviroLab at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
